Personalization in Healthcare: From a Global Trend to BeWell’s Approach in Vietnam
Not every body responds to the same treatment in the same way. This is one of the reasons personalization and precision medicine have become important directions in global healthcare.
If the traditional model often starts with the question, “What treatment is appropriate for this condition?”, personalized healthcare adds another, equally important question: “What approach is right for this person?”
This shift is being driven by advances in testing, health data, genomics, biomarkers, monitoring technologies, and AI. McKinsey notes that precision medicine is expanding beyond selecting treatments based on disease characteristics toward an ecosystem that connects individual data, analytics, and solutions tailored to each person.
From “One-Size-Fits-All” to Personalized Healthcare
Personalization in healthcare today goes beyond selecting a medication or adjusting its dosage. Health data is becoming increasingly diverse, ranging from medical records and laboratory results to genetic information, biomarkers, lifestyle factors, and data continuously collected through personal devices.
Deloitte highlights how the combination of AI, genomics, and diverse health data is creating new opportunities for more precise diagnosis, prediction, and treatment. At the same time, expectations around healthcare experiences are evolving. In its 2025 Global Health Care Outlook, Deloitte found that 72% of surveyed healthcare leaders considered improving engagement, experience, and trust a priority.
This points to an important shift: personalization is gradually becoming a new expectation in healthcare, rather than simply a technological advantage.
Yet personalization in healthcare is fundamentally different from personalization in retail or marketing. Here, data is not simply used to create a more tailored experience; it can also inform decisions that directly affect a person’s health. This is why organizations such as WHO and the OECD emphasize data quality, professional expertise, interoperability, privacy, and informed consent.
In Vietnam, this approach is gradually gaining attention alongside advances in healthcare technology, specialized testing, and proactive health models. However, personalization should be understood as more than simply conducting more tests or adopting newer technologies.
Personalization does not mean collecting as much data as possible. Its value lies in identifying which data matters, understanding it in the context of each woman, and translating it into appropriate care decisions.

BeWell: Starting with the Individual, Not a Pre-Set Treatment
This is also how BeWell approaches personalization.
Every woman who comes to BeWell — whether for dermatological care, hormonal health, proactive healthcare, or fertility support — begins with an assessment of her individual condition before any treatment plan is recommended.
Two women may have the same concern — for example, both may want to improve their skin — yet receive entirely different approaches. The difference may come from their skin condition, medical history, health goals, hormonal factors, lifestyle, or other findings identified during the assessment.
The same concern does not necessarily call for the same solution.
For BeWell, this is more than a service design principle. It is a professional approach: rather than applying a standardized solution to different bodies, care should reflect the specific needs identified through assessment.
This is why medical consultation and thorough assessment are placed before treatment at BeWell. A particular approach may be suitable for one woman but not another; a specific health indicator may be meaningful in one context without being necessary for everyone.
From One-Time Personalization to a Continuous Healthcare Journey
A further evolution of personalized healthcare is not simply tailoring a care decision at one point in time, but monitoring and adapting the journey as a woman’s health changes over time.
This is also at the heart of BeWell’s approach to proactive healthcare. A test result can show where the body is at a particular point in time; ongoing assessment can help reveal how it is changing and in which direction.
For this reason, personalization at BeWell does not begin with the question, “Which service should this woman use?” It begins with broader questions: What is her current state of health? What are her care goals? Which factors need attention? And what approach is most appropriate for her at this particular stage?
As healthcare increasingly moves toward prevention, data-informed care, and a more individual-centered approach, BeWell is building its care experience around these differences.
Personalization is not simply another trend in healthcare. It is a different way of beginning a healthcare journey — moving from a pre-set solution to an approach that starts with the individual.
